Our Story

I’m Mohammad Muqeem, founder, and managing director of Muqeem & Brothers Private Limited (M&B). I live in South Charlotte, North Carolina, with my family, and this is where I manage my business.

I was born in Rural India in a financially challenged family involved in farming and handicrafts. I grew up as the fifth child, with an average household income of $3 per day, but my parents took good care of us, including my two brothers and four sisters.

My early education was challenging, but with the support of my parents and sisters, I moved to New Delhi in 2003 for higher education. There, I completed my bachelor's and post-graduation degrees while also starting to supply our family-made handicrafts to nearby export houses in India.

Driven by my thirst for learning and my ambition to start my own export business, I went to the UK in 2011 for higher education. I completed my MBA in finance at the University of Sunderland London Campus. Over the years, I worked in various industries, including warehouses, catering, midday lunch service for elementary schools, hotel front desks, online selling, procurement, and brand building. Starting from ground-level, blue-collar jobs, I eventually became a senior manager in an e-commerce company.

I commenced serving my own clients in 2016 and building a great team, building brands, and uplifting the people where I come from.
